Chinese Philosophies
Yin Yang
The general idea of the Yin Yang is that everything in the world results from the balance of two forces. The Yin and Yang are not in conflict with each other. instead, they depend on each other. Under the best conditions they maintain balance.
Confuciansim
Confucius the founder of the Chinese philosophy of Confucianism, had little to say about gods or about purely religious ideas. Confucius was most worried about the causes of political and social unrest and how moral and ethical leadership could solve these problems.
Daoism
The basic idea of Daoism is that people should withdraw from the world and become one with nature. In this way, they could understand the Dao and live in harmony. (The founder of this philosophy was a man names Laozi.)
Legalism
The view of people in the idea of Legalism is that all people are in their nature, untrustworthy and selfish. According to legalism, peace and prosperity could be achieved by threatening severe punishment if people did not obey laws.
Buddhism
The teaching of Buddha helped explain the widespread disruption that accompanied the Han collapse. It also helped the peasants to find comfort in the values that Buddhism championed.
