Mesolithic Era (Middle Stone Age)
Trees Anyone?
Trees are used for many purposes today, but during the Mesolithic Era or Middle Stone Age, trees were used to make wooden canoes. With these boats, people could go spear fishing and travel over rivers easier with this new found water transportation. Knowing that trees were used for canoes makes them seem a lot more valuable, especially to the people of this time period.
Pottery
During the Middle Stone Age, people learned to make pottery. The items that they would construct didn't have all of the details of today's pottery, but they did what the people wanted them to do. These pieces of pottery were used for holding water and ingredients for cooking and washing purposes.
Wall Paintings
The people of this era learned to move their paintings from the inside of caves to outside "walls" made of stone. These painting are the reason that some believed they had a sort of set religion. Some of the pictures that were painted suggested this possibility.
